And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8
Have you thought about the above question? It’s something to consider because we think about what others are doing for us and will do for us. Let’s take it a step further and say that you are thinking about what you do for others.
It may or may not get done. We as humans are not dependable making mistakes everyday. Perfection is far from us.
Take a look at someone who is perfect, is dependable, and makes no mistakes. His name is the Lord. The Lord will do four things for us.
1. The Lord will go before us.
As we live our lives our vision is limited. Looking forward into the distance there is just so far that is seen. With each step that distance increases. Never knowing what is over the next horizon.
But I know the Lord who said that he sees and knows what is ahead of us. Whatever that may be he will be with us.
2. The Lord will be with us.
There is comfort in knowing that the Lord will continue to walk along with us through whatever may be in our path. He has the knowledge, resources, and tools to help along the way.
But none of that will do any good if for some reason something comes up more important. Off he goes tending to other matters. Don’t worry about the Lord because he will not fail us.
3. The Lord will not fail us.
How many times when you needed someone the most they were nowhere to be found. It was like they drooped off the face of the earth. Maybe excuses, friends, family, or circumstances kept them from supporting you.
The Lord is dependable because he will not forsake us.
4. The Lord will not forsake us.
The Lord is around us when we feel him and when we don’t. He is always working for our good wheather it’s visible or in the background being unseen.
Some things the Lord does for us are unthanked, unrecongized, and never appricated. But he continues to help anyway. That is the kind of God we serve. Selfless!
Start to thank the Lord for what he does because you never know what might be over the next horizon. He will be there.
After you understand that each of these point are connected in a way that you need to see to relized the power of God. The Lord will go before us, will be with us, will not fail us, will not forsake us. Realize that God is always everywhere even if his presence seems to be absent.
The Lord Will!
