06-04-2012 – Psalms 34:4 I Sought The Lord

Read Bible Verse:

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalms 34:4

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

If You Want It Bad EnoughHow often have you sought the Lord for something? I don’t mean just ask God for it then forget about it. But actually pursue after God until he here’s you and answers you.

Most of us ask a few times and when no answer is given then we move on to something else. With that type of attitude you will get few answers. Being busy is not an excuse to stop short.

God wants you to seek him when it’s easy and when it’s hard. He want’s to see you put forth an effort. If you want it bad enough and if you are serious about it then you will do whatever it takes.

That is what God wants to see.

Are you willing to put forth the effort, do the hard work, and do what ever it takes to get answers from God?

06-03-2012 – Psalms 34:3 Exalt His Name Together

Read Bible Verse:

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psalms 34:3

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

Let us consider the phrase “let us exalt his name together.” This is a very powerful truth with a very powerful message.

When one tells others about the Lord progress is being made a little at a time to tell the whole world. But when a group of people band together proclaiming the name of Jesus then a lot of progress is being made at one time.

That is why God wants you to tell as many people about him that you can. Then they will tell others. God is no secret and if you think he is then let the secret out.

You see how just by word of mouth the Lord gets exalted. Not only by one person but by multiple people. Sometimes it’s being done at the same time.

Your Thoughts:

Are you telling others about how good God is?

06-02-2012 – Psalms 34:3 O Magnify The Lord

Read Bible Verse:

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psalms 34:3

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

Maginfy The LordWhen you use a magnifying glass to look at something it increases the size of it. So that it can be seen better.

Some people have never heard about God. Others only know a little about God. The rest know a lot about him.

The Lord needs to be magnified through the bible, praise, singing, worshiping, witnessing, and visitation so that people will know that God is real and alive.

There are enough people giving him a bad name. It’s time for more people to give him a good name.

Your Thoughts:

How do represent God? How often do you magnify God?

06-01-2012 – Psalms 34:1 Praise The Lord Continually

Read Bible Verse:

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

Praise The LordThink about these words carefully, “his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Pause! Stop! Really think about this right now before you continue to read the rest of this article.

Now that you’ve thought about it I want to present 3 points for you to consider.

1. Time spent with God is precious. Don’t dread allowing God to enter into your mind and sharing with others what he has done for you. He did it once, he did it twice, he’ll do it again, and again, and again. He loves for you to thank him for what he has done and to share it with others.

2. Time spent with God is reasonable. Sometimes we over think things taking them to the extreme. Not considering the outcome or effect. What we do and think God knows about it.  So that means what we don’t do and think God knows about to. Be responsible and thoughtful and think about God.

3. Time spent with God is essential. This is very important whether you realize it or not. God has valuable lesson to teach you giving you valuable knowledge. Being a stagnated christian is useless. He wants you to be active and useful making good use of your time.

Praise the Lord!

Your Thoughts:

How often do you praise the Lord?

05-31-2012 – Psalms 34:1 I Will Bless the Lord

Read Bible Verse:

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

I Will Bless The LordI will give honor and glory to God all the time.

Why do so many people think that the only time to praise the Lord is in church? Because it’s not true. David said he would “bless the LORD at all times.”

I’m pretty sure that he did not stay at church 24 hours a day. He had other obligations that occupied his time. But he made it a point to always remember God.

With hectic schedules that preoccupy our minds it’s easy for several days to to go by and never thinking about God. This is a real shame considering what he did for us.

Why not rethink how a day in our life is spent. By putting the Lord right smack dab in the middle of what is done.

Could that be the reason why so many people have bad days? Stop leaving God out.

Your Thoughts:

How often do you put God in the middle of your daily activities?

05-30-2012 – Psalms 32:7 Selah

Read Bible Verse:

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
Selah.
Psalms 32:7

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

SelahThroughout the book of psalms you’ll find the word selah mentioned several times. It is a musical direction which means to pause or to raise the voice. How does this apply to our christian walk with God?

1. Pause to get directions. Men are the worlds worst about getting lost, does not want to admit it, and refuses to stop to get directions. Did you know that many christian’s are the same way. They are like the energizer bunny that keeps going and going and going.

The problem is not the keeps going part but the keeps going in the wrong direction. Most of the time when you’re lost you are going in the wrong direction and know it.

It’s time that we pause and ask for directions. Make sure you ask someone who knows what they are talking about. If not you are still lost.

Ask God for directions. The bible will point you in the right direction.

2. Pause to listen. When you ask for directions and do not pay attention then you will still be going in the wrong direction. I’ve given directions to people before and watched when they left to see what direction they went and believe it or not they turned the opposite way that I had told them.

So make sure that you listen carefully and understand the correct way to go. If you don’t understand then ask questions or ask someone else until you fully understand. Being lost is a scary feeling.

So don’t be afraid to ask for directions and listen carefully in order to get back on the right track.

Your Thoughts:

Do you ask for directions as soon as you know that you are lost or do you wait?

05-29-2012 – Psalms 32:7 Thou Shalt Compass Me About With Songs Of Deliverance

Read Bible Verse:

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
Selah.
Psalms 32:7

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

During troubled times that we all go through from time to time allows discouragement and depression to set in. If something is not done about it then the end results could be devastating. This is not what we want.

That is why God will surround us with words of encouragement. These words will come from different sources like family, friends, books, bible, songs, and the list continues.

They will comfort, console, and cheer us up. You may be disappointed at first because it may appear to be landing on deaf ears. But fret not it’s doing some real good even if we don’t realize it.

Your Thoughts:

How often does God come through for you surrounding you with words of encourage from unimaginable places?

05-27-2012 – Psalms 32:7 Thou Shalt Preserve Me From Trouble

Read Bible Verse:

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
Selah.
Psalms 32:7

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

Everywhere we go, everyone we meet, and everything we do are not safe. It’s part of living. Also, there are things that we will need to go through in life that will make us stronger and with each step grow closer to God.

“Thou shalt preserve me from trouble” does not mean God will always protect us from trouble. Sometimes we will still have to go through the troubles but God is saying that he will be by our side and will never leave.

Troubles will come and go but God will always be supporting and helping us along the way.

Your Thoughts:

Are you relying on God to help you through troubling times?

05-26-2012 – Psalms 32:7 Thou Art My Hiding Place

Read Bible Verse:

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
Selah.
Psalms 32:7

Verse For Thought:

When all else fails. When it seems like all hope is gone. When you are at a dead end road, surrounded, and nowhere to go then it’s time to visit your hiding place.

Although you should never wait until it gets this bad. Sometimes it does happen. You need somewhere to go for help.

You might say, “I have nowhere to go?”

Yes, you do.

One thing to realize is that your hiding place is not always in a seculed, lonely, and with no one around place. It can be anyplace, anywhere, and at anytime.

You see since God is everywhere and he is your hiding place then it’s everywhere. That makes it available for use when you need it least or most every time without fail.

Try God out and see what he can do for you. Because proof is in the pudding.

Your Thoughts:

Is God your hiding place?

05-25-2012 – Psalms 19:7 Making Wise The Simple

Read Bible Verse:

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalms 19:7

The Verse Challenger: Find out more here.

Verse For Thought:

Making Wise The SimpleA simple person is one who is inexperienced or easily misled. There are some people this way today. There has always been and always will be simple people.

Remember though don’t exclude yourself just yet. Because some things you know enough about to stand firm on. But others no so much.

Those others makes you simple minded in those areas. In which the Lord’s word, the bible can make you wise.

When in doubt always consult with God words first before anything else to be 100% sure on all matters. It’s always best to be sure than to be sorry.

Your Thoughts:

Are you consulting with God’s word, the King James Bible for all issues in your life first?
