A Pre-Celebration Day

Celebration

I’ve got a case of the jitters. Tomorrow, April 1, 2012 is when my newly redesigned blog will officially go live. That is when my new schedule will be put in force.

I hope everything will go as planned. It has took a lot work but worth every moment. Now all I can do is stand back to see how it works out.

God will be in the center and the main focus. He will lead, direct, and guide. I’m looking forwrd to see what God will do in the coming weeks.

He does impressive work.Thinking about him right now gives me some relieve. Let God do what he does best.

God is still working on me. Is he still working on you?

Read A Bible Verse Daily

This is a primer to what is coming soon.

In the next couple of days www.ministertoyou.com will be going live. Right now I’m working out some last minute bugs that has crept in. Exterminating them can be painful.

Read A Bible Verse A Day

Verse View will be the main page that will keep track of the most current verse to read. As well as previous verses if you missed any. It gives you instructions on what to do.

I encourage you to read each verse with full attention and focus. Listen to what God is saying. It’s all in the show. It will be needed at a later time to help you, a friend, or a stranger. It’s all in the contacts.

Verse Challenger

If the verse touched your heart in a special way then memorize it. If a word stood out then do a word study. If a phrase grabbed your attention then do research on that topic. Find instances throughout the whole bible taking good notes for future use.

Reading one verse a day does not seem to be much and it’s not. But it’ll do you a lot of good. Take medication for example. Most of the pills are very small but when taken according to the doctors orders they do a lot of good.

Reading one bible verse a day will provide you with a dose of good. Throughout the day reflect on what God revealed to help you along the way. Life is hard so pulling from all resources will be a requirement.

Take the first step right now to be notified when the first verse is posted by signing up to receive newsletter updates.

How does reading one bible verse a day help you? Answer in the comments below.

Setting 5 Reachable Strategic Goals

Reach GoalsMy strategic goals are in the process of being set.

A schedule is being setup this very moment for the next six months then it will be updated in six month intervals for changes and improvements.

Beginning April 1, 2012 I plan on posting on a regular schedule. Up until now nothing much has been happening. Changes are in the making.

Setting 5 Reachable Strategic Goals

Goal 1: Create a schedule for the next six months to write post for this blog.

Setting up a schedule want be very hard. It’ll take time and some thinking. For the most part the ideas I have now to complete are feasible. They will be listed later in this article.

The biggest part is to see it through to the end. Persistence!

Read more here.

Goal 2: Create a action plan to see it through to the end.

Wow, this will be hard. Creating the action plan is not the hard part. Sticking with it will be the hardest. Persistence in action!

My reputation is you never finish what you start. That has got to change. The only way for that to happen is taking the necessary steps learning how to work through excuses, interruptions, discouragements, and disappointments.

Starting today my excuses will be turned into ways to get things done instead of get out of doing them. It will be hard work. That is a good thing.

The accomplishments will be reward enough.

Read more here.

Goal 3: Write a weekly article.

Read, research, study, and write are the main requirements. A lot of it.

Before knowledge is shared it has to be obtained. So that will be part of the process. One article at a time.

Read more here.

Goal 4: Write a weekly prayer request article.

This will be one article with a bible verse relating to prayer and a short message about it. Then the prayer request will be listed in the comment section of the post.

Simple enough…

Read more here.

Goal 5: Write a daily bible verse reading article.

Write one daily article with a bible verse and a short message or quote relating to that verse. To inspire, encourage, comfort, and motivate.

Read more here.

The main gist is goal setting takes planning a schedule, action plan, and persistence. It boils down to Hard work.

Lets begin the goal setting and hard work journey.

What are some of your goal setting setbacks?

How did you overcome those setbacks?

Leave answers in the comments.

Why Do I Need To Go To Church?

For the next few minutes I want to explore the topic “The church is”. Sometimes it may be misunderstood exactly what the responsibility and the purpose of the local church is. Now those misunderstandings will be clarified and explained from the King James Bible.

Now you may ask, “Why do I need to go to church?”

I. The church is founded by God.

1. God built it.

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

It was not made up by some person or thing but created by God himself. He seen the importance of building a sacred place where people could come and worship him. They would be able to get away from the influence of the world and enter into a place of solace filled with the presence of God where the Holy Spirit is continually working.

2. God built it on a sure foundation.

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure”  2 Timothy 2:19

When God built the church he made it so that it would always be around. No one or  anything could never destroy it. Although, he knew that opposition would come against it. It was built to withstand all of it.

3. God established it as the Pillar of truth.

“the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” 1 Timothy 3:15

There are so many beliefs today that it is hard to tell what is the truth and what is a lie. God knew that would be a problem. So he setup the church to be the pillar of truth and the ground of the truth. If the truth is in question then the King James Bible has all the right answers. This is the way God had planned it from the beginning. Take a look to check it out for yourself. Don’t take my word for it.

II. The church is a place…

Church is more than a building with a steeple on top and padded pews or chairs inside where a choir sings gospel songs and the preacher proclaims the word of God from the pulpit. What more could be to church than that?

The church is different from any other place you will ever go. The experiences you get from there is not available everywhere so attend expecting something good to happen. They are unique as it should be.

1. Where God is the center of everything.

  • Is God being praised? This is one thing that can be recognized as soon as someone walks into a church. Who is being put first, God or man?

“And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.” Luke 24:53

  • Are people being ministered to? Watch the people’s expressions, attitudes, and listen to what they say to see if God is being glorified. These always tell the real story.

“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” Acts 2:46

  • Is it continually growing? Is outsiders wanting to find out what is going on inside? If not then something is probably wrong.

“Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2:47

2. God said to attend church.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

What else needs to be said. God put it plain and simple that we need to go to church. We can make up as many excuses as possible but the fact remains God said that we should go to church. He is not asking but telling us to obey his word. Are you going to obey God?

He told us to go for a reason. We may rebel because of a bad experience or something else that happened. It may appear to be legitimate but we need to do what God said. He knows what is best for us.  It’s for our greater good.

3. Where people come together as a Family.

  • There are no strangers present. Everyone is part of the family. This is an extremely important part of a ministry that is missed in most churches today.

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;” Ephesians 2:19

  • Do they want you to be part of there church? If you feel like you are at home in a church then something special has been found. This one ingredient is left out of a lot of church recipes for visitors and existing members. The feeling of home.

“So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8

4. Where people Fellowship one with another.

  • Pray for one another. Are there “prayer warriors” among the people? A church without prayer is a church without God.

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42

“Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,” Philippians 1:4

  • Comfort one another. The term “comfort collector” comes to my mind. It means that a person stores up experiences and knowledge to share with someone in need. A church without comfort collectors is a church that needs God.

“That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.” Romans 1:12

  • Create memories with one another. Are there “memory banks” among the people of the church? A memory bank is a person that is remembered by how they helped someone else. A church without memory banks is probably a church without God.

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,” Philippians 1:3

“For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;” Philippians 1:5

5. Where people Love each other.

This one thing I know is that love among the brethren is hard to find. We all have faults and failures that hinder and interfere with true love for one another.

  • Effects of Enmity. Enmity is the feeling of hostility, hatred, and ill will. It becomes part of everyday life. The mind is controlled by these thoughts. The body responds in negative ways. The soul has no peace. Love has been replaced with enmity. Has the point of no return been reached? Maybe or Maybe not. Depending on the person and what they are willing to do to turn around and begin to fix the broken pieces with Gods help.

“Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;” Ephesians 2:15

“And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:” Ephesians 2:16

  • Effects of a Pure heart. One word: FORGIVENESS! Yep, that is all it takes to fix enmity. But it’s easier said than done. The harder you try to forgive the more hatred builds up and overpowers it. Let go and let live. Right, but it shows back up on my front door step. The point I’m making is it will not be easy. Keep trying and depend on God to help you overcome it is the only way. You cannot do it alone.

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:” 1 Peter 1:22

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.” 1 John 5:2

Talk is cheap but action is expensive. Most people cannot afford action that is why they remain in the same state there whole life. This is why churches remain in the same condition because people are the church. Most of them do not want to change.

All of them are not that way. Keep looking until you find one of the diamonds in the rough and you will have just struck it spiritually rich.

This should make you want to go and find a good Independent Fundamental Baptist Church to start attending right away. The longer you wait the harder it will be to get started. Pick those feet up and start now.

  1. What is holding you back from going to church?
  2. What keeps you faithfully attending church?
  3. Continue answering these questions in the comments.

Then return to “Read First” to read, “Will I continue to sin after I’m saved?”

Do I Need To Be Baptized?

Yes, you need to be baptized.

Although it is not required. After you ask Jesus to come into your heart then you were saved and on your way to Heaven after death. According to Ephesians 2:8,9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” verifies this fact.

Baptism is for believers only according to Acts 8:12 “But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women”.

It is an act of obedience letting others know that you are not ashamed of letting him into your heart. It represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus according to Romans 6:3-5 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been planted together in likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:”.

  1. Standing in the water represents his death hanging on the cross.
  2. When you are let down fully under the water it represents his burial in the tomb.
  3. As you are being brought up out of the water it represents his resurrection.

This means that after we accepted Jesus into our heart we let go of our old life and now our new life is following Jesus.

It’s time to please God the Father like his son Jesus did according to Matthew 3:17 “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.

Now go and find a good Independent Fundamental Baptist Church to start attending on a regular basis and talk to the pastor about being baptized.

Have you been baptized? Start thinking about it.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Did you know that God love’s you? He wants you to be saved according to John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

I. The Plan of Salvation.

  1. Realize that you are a sinner according to Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
  2. Why are you a sinner? Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” That man was Adam according to Genesis 3:1-7 when he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that God told him not to eat of in Genesis 2:17.
  3. The penalty of sin is death according to Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death;” This death is referred to in Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” If you die without accepting Jesus as your savior then you will go to hell. You do not have to because I have good news.
  4. You can have eternal life according to Romans 6:23b “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” It is a FREE GIFT OF GOD that you can know for sure that when you die HEAVEN can be your home to spend eternity.
  5. Now you may ask, “How can I get this free gift of eternal life?” According to Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

II. Five Things You Must Believe.

  1. You must believe that you are a sinner.
  2. You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
  3. You must believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.
  4. You mist believe that Jesus Christ was dead, buried, and three days later God the Father raised him from the dead.
  5. You must believe that God will save you when you ask him.

If you believe these five things then all you like is to ask Jesus to save you.

Would you like to receive Jesus right now as your personal savior?

III. The Prayer.

Say this prayer, “I believe that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that he died on the old rugged cross for my sins and for the sins of the whole world. I believe that he was dead, buried and three days later God the Father raised him from the dead. Now Lord Jesus I want to ask you as humble as I know how to forgive me of my sin, come into my heart, save my soul, and take me to Heaven when I die.

Amen!

If you ask Jesus to save you after reading this article please leave a comment below so that I can pray for you.
