Verse For Thought:

SelahThroughout the book of psalms you’ll find the word selah mentioned several times. It is a musical direction which means to pause or to raise the voice. How does this apply to our christian walk with God?

1. Pause to get directions. Men are the worlds worst about getting lost, does not want to admit it, and refuses to stop to get directions. Did you know that many christian’s are the same way. They are like the energizer bunny that keeps going and going and going.

The problem is not the keeps going part but the keeps going in the wrong direction. Most of the time when you’re lost you are going in the wrong direction and know it.

It’s time that we pause and ask for directions. Make sure you ask someone who knows what they are talking about. If not you are still lost.

Ask God for directions. The bible will point you in the right direction.

2. Pause to listen. When you ask for directions and do not pay attention then you will still be going in the wrong direction. I’ve given directions to people before and watched when they left to see what direction they went and believe it or not they turned the opposite way that I had told them.

So make sure that you listen carefully and understand the correct way to go. If you don’t understand then ask questions or ask someone else until you fully understand. Being lost is a scary feeling.

So don’t be afraid to ask for directions and listen carefully in order to get back on the right track.

Your Thoughts:

Do you ask for directions as soon as you know that you are lost or do you wait?
